CaSE Conference 2027 to explore local and global R&D

Registration is open for the Campaign for Science and Engineering's 2027 conference, which will bring together discussions on the local and international dimensions of research and development. The event takes place at the Institute of Physics in London on Tuesday 9 February 2027, from 2pm to 7pm, with options to attend in person or follow the livestream.

Under the theme 'Exploring local and global R&D', two panels will consider international research collaboration against a changing geopolitical backdrop, and what devolution and a more place-based approach to R&D mean for the research system and local communities.

Steve Rotheram, Mayor of the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, will deliver CaSE's Annual Lecture at 5pm. A networking reception follows at 6pm. The conference is hosted by the Institute of Physics, which is also supporting the livestream, and sponsored by Elsevier.

For Science in Parliament readers, the programme brings together two closely connected policy questions: how research investment benefits places across the UK, and how the UK sustains productive international partnerships. Further programme details and registration are available from CaSE.
