Vaccine answers address childhood immunisation shortfall
Expert resource targets public questions and online searches

Childhood vaccination coverage remains below target in England, the Royal Society reports in an announcement of a joint vaccine information resource with the Academy of Medical Sciences. Citing UK Health Security Agency figures, it says uptake among five-year-olds has levelled off after a decade of decline, while coverage among one- and two-year-olds fell across all vaccines.
The expert Q&A draws on common internet searches and questions from public contributors. It addresses safety, effectiveness and boosters, and is structured to make evidence-based answers easier to find, including through generative AI tools. The announcement reports no evaluation demonstrating improved vaccination uptake.
