STEM for BRITAIN 2023
On 6th March 2023, 120 early career researchers from across the United Kingdom gathered at Westminster for the annual STEM for BRITAIN competition. This event, designed to encourage interaction between the scientific community and Parliament, showcased the researchers’ innovative work through a poster exhibition spanning five categories: Biological and Biomedical Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, Mathematics, and Physics. Over 50 Parliamentarians attended, engaging with the researchers and learning about their cutting-edge projects.
Distinguished experts from various scientific institutions formed the judging panels, evaluating the participants and awarding prizes to top researchers in each category. STEM for BRITAIN not only acknowledges the vital role these researchers play in the UK’s knowledge economy but also helps strengthen dialogue between Parliament and the scientific, technology, engineering, and mathematical communities.
Major learned societies and sponsors collaborated to make this event possible, emphasising its significance in fostering connections and promoting the value of research.
